Black List - "Opensource Hardware Projects"

Blacklist

PreciousPlastic

PreciousPlastic uses a wide range of fraudulent and unethical methods targeting specifically uninformed people, employing “open source”, “the environment,” and fabricated financial gains. The best advice from both professionals and past volunteers is to remain unassociated. Its management and parts of its community can be characterized as violent and toxic. It became a Ponzi scheme that systematically exploits people to extract funds. See our review here.

  • PP - Gestapo : PP Capi Spain, Sustainable Design Studio, CitizenScientificWorkshop, Dave Hakkens, Mattia, Sigolene, Marcela, Adrian (Project Kamp), Jospeh Klatt, Nico Pizza, MadPlastic, Ben - pura.co.id, PP Berlin. Mostly unrelated people, proprietary bazar sellers, imposing taxes, restrictions, silencing others, accounts killed so far : 100+, not counted, friendships / relations, content. No noteworthy contributions, involvement or development, on the contrary. Whenever around, there will be or has been destruction.

Opensource Ecology

Similar to PreciousPlastic, Opensource Ecology (OSE) baits users with open source, leveraging volunteer work to claim power over others. We have seen multiple instances of racism, cyberbullying, and harassment of actual contributors and volunteers, both on-site and on their official Discord server. Questions and criticisms undergo harsh censorship and hit-and-ban bullying, accompanied by the amusement and humiliation of victims. All in all, investors and users are often left disappointed. Furthermore, like PreciousPlastic, OSE remains an isolated project with no ties to the working class or the economy and has nothing substantial to offer—being both unable and unwilling to provide any help for the issues at hand. Also involved are the so-called “former OSHW contributors,” who impose their interpretation of open source by censoring questions and answers related to ethical aspects.

  • OSE - Gestapo “Alexa Little”, “Sean Marquez”, “Eric Lotze”, “Marcin Jakubowski”, accounts killed so far : 30+, no noteworthy contributions, involvement or development. 50% of the accounts posted no actual content. Same as PP, ‘shut up or else’, ‘behave or else’, …
