Hi there. This is a lofty first project but I’m tackling casting a duck sculpture with the hopes of making floating sculptures for an outdoor art installation.
I’ve sculpted the duck and I’ve got a quote out for a 3D scanning that would produce an aluminum outer and inner mold so I can cast it somewhat hollow. I expect that it’ll be two separate parts to cast as well as installing a flat sheet base to seal the air to keep it buoyant.
I’ve got parts on order for the compression oven and have applied for several grants to fund this.

QUESTIONS – will the stainless shredder handle thick HDPE like buckets or pipes? It’s a good source of material but I’d rather not destroy my shredder.
