Dishes and Glasses with hard plastic

Hello, I’m writing to ask for some suggestions. My idea would be to create dishes and glasses with hard plastic to give people to reuse in food events. So I can use plastic taken from thrown dishes and glasses and turn it in hard ones.

2 questions:

-Which type of plastic and which machine use to make it? If compressor or injector
-Most importat: would be legal to use these dishes in public things or there would be any health problem?

Thanks

your first question: i would recommend using either Polystyrene or Polypropylene.
Second question: as long as you stick with reusing things that are marked with the food safe symbol i would say that the risk is minimal as long as you keep it klean. That said, legally you can’t use recycled plastic for food products, at least in the EU. again, the risk is not very big, but it is there. The risk is up to you to decide whether you want to do it or not.
As for the machine i would use the injection, you could use the compression, but it would take quite a lot longer.

@lorenzoci it is the exception rather than the rule that recycled plastic can be used for food products. check these links for more information, and feel free to ask further questions

You mean that in general it is not legal to use even at an industrial level?
In that case this would be slightly different but I guess the problem could be there if I want this to spread
