I have a basic ideas to do some prototyping with plastic wire. The one that comes from the filament maker Will start with some very simple models and see if the material suits the technique. Otherwise I will make it suit

To make the weaving process slightly easier, I found a bowl to use as a mold.
The first part of the weaving of the plastic ‘warp’ trough the ‘weft’ (ribs) was tough. In this case the warp was to thick and stiff. After some rounds it became easier.
On the go I skipped some wefts, simply by pass them over. That made a huge difference in the weaving ease.
Does anyone know about the equipment that can cut the plastic filament into pellets as it comes out from the extruder?
Totally weather proof furniture. There are plenty of current examples on the market of synthetic wicker furniture but they would be much better using recycled plastic.
This is a great idea! Considering the possibilities of weaving and basket making you could really expand upon this. I’m thinking rugs, mats, and wicker furniture.
