I Need Help with Troubleshooting Plastic Injection Mold Warping

Hey…

I am working on a small-scale project using a desktop injection molding machine, and I have been running into some issues with part warping. I am using polypropylene and despite trying a few different mold temperatures and cooling times, I am still seeing some noticeable distortion in the final parts.

Could anyone guide me about this? Has anyone here experienced similar issues with warping? What adjustments did you find helpful to reduce or eliminate warping?

Your answer is will be grateful for me!

Thanks in advance!

I also check this: https://forum.osr-plastic.org/t/precious-plastic-estoniaalteryx But I have not found my solution. Could anyone guide me about this?

Dear Nisha,

Welcome to OSR-Plastic.

The only techniques I am currently aware of:

  • keep the pressure up for at least 1-3 minutes, depending on material. HDPE wants it quite long
  • lower melting temperature, people often over cook plastic

A picture of the machine, mould and object would be very useful.

kind regards, Guenter
