Though machines aren’t build yet, i have bought an oven for 10€, and a themic scraper (sry not sure of the correct word), and have been using an iron to blend sheets of pallet wrap together.
What is amazing with that plastic is that you can directly do the welding with adapted temperature it is water proof & can hold almost 10kg without feeling it is breaking; also through that type of testing we realised that several layers of trash bags creates a sort of leather; further testing is on it’s way, will keep you posted !
This is great! I love that it does not require sewing. I have some LDPE shopping bags I would like to try this with! Thank you for the video and the idea.
The first one was filled in less than 5 minutes picking up plastic trash along the river closeby. The technique is a bit more developped.
Indeed we used a pattern as if it was cloth and then replaced the sewing by iron fusing
We are now trying to figure a way to use that new material as water protection for some wooden cases we have; will keep you posted !
@plastikfantastik & @mommamary23 i just got the translation for the type of paper i use ; it’s called “greaseproof paper”, doesn’t cost much and you can reuse the paper as long as you don’t make holes in it ! have fun trying out the techniques !!
This amazing idea! I must try, please tell me the paper you are using to iron over, is it parchment or can other paper such as newsprint or newspaper work just as well?
