Hi, im Aldy from Indonesia, im a young programmer (and a student) and im really interested on this. I can’t even stop playing all the videos that Dave’s (or his team) record. Ok lets go back to the topic, so here we are, me and my friend have an idea to build a Mini Portable Shredder. Main purpose i built this project is because there’s A LOT of mountain climber / hikers or even travelers in my country who have a problem with a trash (specialy plastic). When they climb up the mountain, building a tent and do many things, they should bring all the trash to the bottom (basecamp), the problem is when they walking down in a mountain, the trash is always falling down from their trashbag to the ground, and you know… most of them just let it pass and continue walking to the base camp. Thats really a big trouble. Then i think, how if they shredds the plastic before they go to the bottom, place it in a box (or any kind of things that can keep the plastic inside safely), and there will be no trash anymore in all of Indonesia’s mountain. And when they arrived home, they can keep their shredded plastic. And here’s our prototype, designed by my friend. We think that we must give that things many feature so it could be multifunctional in a forest. So we gave that shredder the USB charger for a cellphone, a power bank, a lamp (in case theres no light at all), mini trangia (like a stove)and a solar cell charging system. We want this thing more smaller but bcuse a lot of things, we’re deal to make it 30cm in height, We successfully build the prototype (with 3d printing and using some cheap components like arduino, dioda, etc). But we have a big trouble when we wanna make it true, as a real machine. We have a trouble in power supply, and also the materials like a real shredder components. And we have lost our money. Anybody can give us any suggestion? maybe give us any idea to make it come true in a cheapest cost. We really need help.
