Today I made a sewn bag a la Bjorn!

I’ve been meaning to make one of these for a while and today I got to achieve my first bag sewn from fused plastic sheets (from plastic carrier bags and food bags).

I screwed up the corners, and experimented with different stitches on the machine but am pleased with the end result.

good job! i have seen they are making similar items from recycle windsurf sails and they are amazing!

@halukyilmaz if i am correct (from recent experiences) is that you should do small sheets, that you then assemble with other sheets; 1 at a time. It will shrink, but the more layers you add, the less it will schrink.

Hello i try to combine 3 layers of plastic ldpe bags by ironing. If i maxed the temperature it shrinks and wrinkles from the edges. If i lower the temperature then layers are not combining. Is there any trick hint or technique?

Thanks in advance

I like it very much 🙂 , just sell it on the bazar

@margeryk congrats, those look awesome.
I think they would be a great replacement for those groceries reusable bags.

Beautiful texturing!

What setting do you use on your iron?

(I’ve tried today and really could not get uniformity like you!)

Thank you in advance and thank you for sharing!
